The Raccoon River Watershed Association and Carroll County Conservation will host a birdwatching event Saturday, April 17. Matt Wetrich of Jefferson, Carroll County conservationist, will lead the program at Dunbar Slough in southwest Greene County.
The program is designed for persons new to birdwatching. Wetrich will teach participants how to identify birds, explain migration patterns, and explore birdwatching locations at the slough.
Participants may want to bring a bird field guide and binoculars.
Participants should meet at 9 am at Casey’s General Store on Highway 25 in Scranton. From there the group will carpool to Dunbar Slough. There is no charge for the program, which is open to the public. No pre-registration is necessary.
